AiR To Reach Thousands of Students with Hazelden Addiction Prevention Products and Services

CENTER CITY, MINN. (February 27, 2004)

Addiction Intervention Resources (A.I.R.) will begin reaching thousands of K-12 students in the education community with prevention products from Hazelden Publishing and Educational Services. The distribution agreement will allow packages of products and services to be available and presented by A.I.R. which is a St. Paul, Minnesota-based national network of addiction and intervention specialists, counselors and consultants that provide fast and effective crisis management services through a proven protocol of education, action and healing.
With offices in nine cities across the nation, A.I.R. is ready to provide help in addressing addiction-related crisis resulting from alcohol, drugs, eating disorders, gambling and sexual addiction, and will now be able to include Hazelden prevention products and services.
Hazelden Publishing and Educational Services offers several highly acclaimed prevention programs. PAX Good Behavior Game & Video is aimed at K-6 classrooms designed to decrease classroom disruptions; Project Northland, developed by the University of Minnesota, reduced teen alcohol use by 30% after its initial three-year test program; and Class Action is a role-playing experience for teens to prepare and present hypothetical civil cases exposing them to real-life consequences of underage drinking.
Project Northland has been recognized as an Exemplary Program by the U.S. Department of Education, notes Nick Motu, vice president of Hazelden Publishing and Educational Services. And we are pleased that A.I.R. will include all of our prevention/education packages along with the excellent addiction and drug intervention services they offer to students, teachers and parents across the nation.
A.I.R. is very excited to be associated with Hazelden Publishing and to be able to expand the continuum of services that we can provide. These prevention products support our company strategy to supply best of breed products and services to organizations and families concerned with addiction related issues, said Chip Dempsey, vice president of business development.
